ABOUT THE Mont Clare Hotel IN DUBLIN
The Mont Clare Hotel in Dublin welcomes you into an impressive sparkling lobby of glass and wood panelling that hints at its history as a bank.
The hotel has been the first one in the family-owned business chain and being decades old, you can imagine that it bears a tremendous history within its walls. At the very beginning, the Group began with a bar and nightclub in the basement of the now being Mont Clare Hotel. The hotel was a bank back then and when the opportunity came to buy the building, the first hotel of what would become the O’Callaghan Hotel Group was created.
The hotel has literally seen it all, as it has hosted many soirees, dancing balls, events, weddings, meetings and conferences. The most special part of this hotel however is without a doubt its location: Situated right on Merrion Square, the building overlooks the beautiful green Merrion Park where you can spot the Oscar Wilde Statue. Dublin is very well known for its Georgian Squares and Merrion Square is one of the most prestigious ones, where local residents go about their everyday lives, business people attend meetings, artists attend events at the national gallery and exhibitions in the outdoor gallery on Merrion Square at weekends. This makes the Mont Clare Hotel the perfect destination for both business and leisure travellers.
Around the corner from our hotel, the world-renowned Trinity College find its home since more than 400 years. Famous lecturers have been talking in front of huge audiences and scientists and tourists can visit the science gallery and the libraries. Visitors from home or overseas can visit local sights on foot or indulge in the excellent shopping nearby and meet friends for coffee on one of the terraces just off Grafton Street. The hotel’s amazing central downtown location puts the whole of Dublin city centre and its surroundings on your doorstep. We welcome you with years of experience in hospitality and look forward to showing you around in our traditional yet elegant hotel.
